I have 8 years experience in sales. I am graduate in IT and MBA in International business. which stream will be better for me Business Analyst or Data Analyst.

Should I Be a Business Analyst or Data Analyst?

You have several career options available to you based on your background. Here is a review of some of them:

  1. Reporting Analyst Career

    -

Since you have developed reports for your organization using Sql Server and Crystal reports, consider a Reporting Analyst career in the Infromation Technology (IT) Industry.

The big question is, how much reporting with Sql Server or Crystal Reports have you done?

The more of it you\'ve done with your current job, the easier it will be for you to transition into a full-time Reporting Analyst Job.

  2. Database Development Career

    -

Since you have worked with Sql Server, would you consider a career in Database Development or SQL Query Writing?

If you do, then you must make sure to master all the aspects of Relational Database Design and Development and SQl Query Writing.

You may even get a job where all you do ful-time is a combination of Reporting, Database Development and SQL Query Writing.

These careers may be ideal for you because they make use of your technical (mainframe, crystal reports and sql server) skills.

From your current roles and responsibilities (sql server, crystal reports), your past experience in mainframe technology and your interests or preferences for more technical work, a data analyst job is the right career path for you.

If you decide to pursue this career path, be sure to rewrite your resume so that it fits or highlights all your past sql server and crystal reporting experience, OK?
